Moab Madness 2014

It was the annual Olson Moab Madness trip and this year was a blast!  We had almost all the Olsons there, and it was fun to see everyone.  The weather was great- you wanted a jacket because of the wind but the sunshine made it nice.  We spent Saturday hiking in Arches with the cousins and the boys had a blast.  McKay is a little mountain man!  He hiked and ran all day and never complained.  Logan took a while to get warmed up (he would look at us and pout and say, "car?  car?" it was cute!) but then he decided to have fun with the other kids.

We hiked, swam, watched cartoons, and ate lots of junk food- so I think it was a productive weekend!  (Funny story- we don't have TV stations, we just watch movies so at the hotel McKay kept getting frustrated when commercials would come on.  Or he kept asking us to pause it- he just didn't understand why it was different!)

Our family-
of course when we said smile for the camera, Logan perked up and smiled and McKay all the sudden became sad...someday I will get a good family picture!!

He hiked to Double Arch and climbed in and around it.  This is underneath the arches looking up at the sky- pretty amazing view!

McKay was so proud he was big enough to hike and climb around these big rocks all by himself

Logan saw Lightening McQueen- read below...

We looked out at the view and you could see the road in the distance surrounded by red rock- Radiator Springs!  And then a red car drove by- Logan got so excited, "Meen, Meen, Meen!!"  Translation- he thought it was Lightening McQueen driving by.  I think he might have died and went to heaven!

We made a quick stop by the music park (a Moab favorite) we didn't have much time but Logan serenaded us as he played the giant xylophone.  I wish I would have taken a video, it was pretty cute.

Look close and you can see Matt & McKay headed up the mountain.  Logan just wanted to stay in the "car, car" so we let Matt and McKay tackle this mountain.

The boys

Before we left Sunday, we went to Matt's aunt's house for pizza.  She gave each of the boys a nutcracker and leprechaun ears- they loved them!

We had a great weekend and McKay already has next year's trip planned out!  Watch out Moab, 2015 here we come!

Car Wash Adventure

So I saw this idea on Pinterest and knew it would be a hit- a carwash for their toys.  After all our colds this past month, our toys could use a good cleaning so I set up a car wash for the boys this afternoon.  We had a blast!  I took a ton of pictures and they were having fun posing and being goofy for them all - so enjoy!
Washing cars in bubbles

then we laid them out to dry

Logan was very intent on washing them, covering them completely with bubbles

He kept saying, "car car, vroom-vroom, BUBBLE!"  Over and over again- it was so cute!

he got splashed!

Look at those muscles!

Washing!

Cheeser Logan

Oh- and don't forget to brush their teeth too!

We had a fun afternoon- now McKay wants to know when we can wash all his super heroes!  I love these two wild boys!

January Random

There isn't much going on in January, so here are a few of the random pictures I took...
McKay telling Logan stories- precious

Who doesn't love licking the cookie beaters?

and the chocolate covered faces afterward!

What a handsome guy!

Playing cars & trains- where you'll find him any day, any time.

That's January!  We're glad its over!!

January- Snow Adventures

We haven't got a lot of snow this winter but enough that the ground has stayed white.  McKay loves playing in the snow and is always begging to go on an "Ice Adventure"- apparently the Ice Ogre lives in the orchard and you have to follow McKay's map (imaginary map) winding up and down rows to get away from him and stop him...anyways, he loves being outside and has quite the imagination.

Matt helping make the snowballs

Love these two!

Now, Logan is a child after my own heart!  He likes the snow, for a little bit, then he wants to go inside and be done.  He doesn't talk and say anything, but when he is done being outside he'll walk to the door, take his boots off, and wait for me to come and take him in.  Here he is waiting at the door for me to open it...apparently he is done playing in the snow!

As I was taking his boots off he stole my gloves- he laughed so hard!  He thought he was being so sneaky!

My warm-weathered friend- time to go drink hot-chocolate and watch Daddy and McKay from the window.

Here we are at the window watching McKay and Matt throw snowballs from their fort at the bad guy they built out of snow- kind of  a snowman, I think!
