Mini-Vacation

Every March we usually go to Moab and stay at Matt's aunt's hotel but the way the calendar worked out Matt couldn't get work off and we didn't make it.  McKay was really sad he didn't get to stay at the hotel and swim at the pool so we decided to plan a little get-away weekend.  We didn't tell the boys (or my sisters) what we were doing and kept it all a secret which made it really fun for them (but really hard on Adrian :-).  Our first stop was the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point.  We took them last year for 2-buck Tuesday with the rest of Utah County and it was crazy busy, so we decided to pay full price and actually be able to enjoy the museum.  McKay cried the first hour because he thought "the dinosaurs were coming alive and were going to get him".  But once we made it to the sand/water table they both were in heaven.  We had the room to ourselves and they had a blast.  Logan loved all the dinosaurs and just walked around the museum roaring at everything.

Our next stop:  Hotel with a pool.  I found a hotel in SLC that has a mini waterpark inside.  It was a lot of fun!  The hotel room itself was kind of small, but we didn't spend too much time in there- the boys wanted to swim.  Logan trying out the goggles.  Logan is a little fish in the water- he has no fear!  Because of his ear tubes though he can't get water in his ears so we couldn't let his head go under.  He would run away from us laughing and then we would dart after him to try to keep him afloat.

Our last stop:  Temple Square

I love the Children's Exhibit in the Church History Museum. It is a hands-on area where the kids can play and run and have fun.  Logan LOVES vroom-vrooms (he doesn't have a preference- cars, trucks, tractors, four-wheelers...as long as it says vroom-vroom).  He sat in this play truck the whole time while McKay ran around and checked out all the other exhibits.  They had a blast.

I found a sister missionary and asked if she could take our family picture.  McKay somewhat cooperated, but Logan didn't even try...this was the best we got.  Oh well.  Someday they will both smile and look the same direction right?

We had a fun mini-vacation and enjoyed our time together as a family.   I have been blessed with great boys who keep me busy and smiling.
